Clinical Observation of Abdominal Cancers in Infants and Children

Abstract
|
|
|
The authors reviewed a total 23 cases of abdominal cancers in children under 15 years of age ´w admitted to Chung-Ang University Hospital during the periods of 10 years from Mar. 1977 to F 1987.
The results were as follows:
1) The incidence of neuroblastoma, Wilms´ tumor and hepatoma was 39.1%, 21.7% and 21.7 respectively.
2) The sex incidence of male to female ratio was 1.2:1.
3) The peak age incidence was 1-5 years of age group (60.9%).
4) The chief complaints of admission were abdominal mass (48%), abdominal distension (22%) abdominal pain (22%).
5) None of the Wilms´ tumor metastasized, but neuroblastoma was noted to metastasized to bop (1 case) & liver (2 cases).
